Are you superstitious? I am… and the worse part is I know that it doesn’t make any sense too, and I just perpetuate the belief by relating random lucky and unlucky things to whatever thing I’m superstitious about. I think humans have an amazing ability to relate events that have no significance together – it’s all part of survival on some level I suppose, but it leads to a lot of crazy beliefs!
So anyways, today on cardiology we had a room that was very unlucky – both of the patients in it were sent up to the ICU due to their deteriorating condition. Their room had the number 13 in it… which I have the firm belief is very unlucky. See, not only is 13 generally known as an unlucky number but it is odd and prime which further makes it more unlucky in my book. (Numbers that are divisible by 2 and 3 are extremely lucky in my book, especially those that are squares too, like 36)
Then today, I saw some flurries. I believe the first snow is very magical and I have been a little worried (now you see what I mean about crazy beliefs) that I was going to miss it being in Hawaii. Luckily, I saw some flurries today which is stretching it but I’m going to take what I can get. I also saw a short little rainbow soon after, and rainbows are very lucky and a sign of a change in luck. I don’t think I’ve had any kind of bad luck recently but hopefully the next couple of days which are lots of traveling will go smoothly. ;)

I always have a good day when I see wild bunnies. So I try to travel on this one road in town that has lots of them so I can see them. But now it gets dark too early for me to see bunnies. :(
That’s about my only superstition.

Heyyyyy. I find 13 to be very lucky, especially a Friday. Maybe it’s cause I was born on the 13th. There are times that little superstitious things run through my head (like saying white rabbit 3X’s as soon as I wake up on the 1st of a new month) but most times I don’t really think about it.

the first flurries are always signs of good things to come. Uh oh so what will you do when you have totally conflicting signs?

I am pretty superstitious and I think I do a lot of it without even thinking about it which is never good :)

I’m superstitious, even though I’d like to think I’m not. :) I’ve seen a few rainbows this week, myself. :)
Trying to put a virtual book tour together over at my book blog, which looks great, thanks to you! Check it out.

I choose to believe it’s a good sign! :-)
Snow?! Omg, it’s 87 here in AZ today… Snow sounds good right now.

That’s kind of funny…I really favor prime numbers and made sure we were married on 7-23…to each his/her own, I guess? :-D By the way, my elementary students saw the flurries this morning too, and their reaction was totally electric and inspiring…it made my day to see kids getting so psyched about simple precipitation:-D Take care!

I thought I was the only one who did the “saying white rabbit 3x on the first day of each month thing”. I don’t know where I got it from. Maybe a kids’ show or something. LOL I’ve got my whole family doing it too. :-O
I can be superstitious at times going back and forth about the number 13 and black cats crossing paths.
I wonder if we’ll ever see snow flurries this year down here.
