Yuck. I don’t want to be sick the *small* break I have between 3rd and 4th year – we get memorial day off. I don’t think I’ve been getting enough sleep, but I do love to be awake and if I could I would never sleep. Sleep is nice and all, but being awake is much more exciting. There’s always something to do, something going on. Even in the middle of the night, I love to listen to music or enjoy the pure silence.

I did enjoy Geriatrics. Part of it has to do with the fact that it very much reminds me of my own grandfather. My grandfather isn’t really the person I knew growing up – but being with the patients on geriatrics reminds me of all the wonderful memories I have and how much my grandfather means to me. Geriatric patients are also used to things being a little bit slower, so aren’t as bothered by the wait and they are always polite and extremely grateful. I also enjoy the stories they tell me about their lives – they jump a lot, so I always ask – now when was this? and it’s usually 20 or so years ago, but I love hearing them anyways. All of us have such cool experiences in life. :)

Life returned to normal – I had my geriatrics rotation this morning, and then the afternoon filled with trying to catch up on things that had been neglected that continued into the evening. I also got Wolfie, so my little pup is back with me :) Tomorrow we have a big presentation, and then I have a grant report due on Tuesday, but things should settle down since I got a lot of work done today.
