Crash x2

Man, o man. My big computer’s hard drive appears to have crashed again. This is the second time this year… making me suspect that the computer itself is the prob not the hard drives. Although not completely out of the realm of possibilities that two hard drives were bad, it is less likely.

Stuff is backed up thanks for syncplicity. Pictures still on camera cards, or if not they’re on flickr. Frustrating in some ways but after having this happen in Aug it’s less upsetting. I know I need a new big laptop but was trying to figure other ways of extending its life.

Last round of night shift tonight, although lectures tomorrow morning that I’ll need to be at. Coffee is my friend :)

HD Fail

I had gotten a new hard drive for Christmas, but it seems to have decided to go meet it’s maker a little earlier than I would have liked. :-/ I’m working to try and figure out a way to get things off of it. In hindsight, I thought things had gotten a little funky on my computer – slowwwwwwww, but thought that my style of opening every program on the computer was the problem.

Anyways, so windows wasn’t booting and called dell. I luckily had a very nice technician on the phone with me and found out my warranty for this computer expired yesterday (!) but she stayed on the phone with me for an hour and tried to help me figure out the problem. After this and that we tried putting in the old hard drive and I’m back on the computer at least. The old hard drive is a little one, so obv not a great solution but for now it is perfectly fine.

So hopefully I can recover at least some of the things on the broken hard drive. I have an external one that I fairly regularly update luckily – but a month or so of stuff that would be lost. :-/
