With everything that’s gone on, and then being at the cusp of applying to residencies and making all sorts of BIG scary decisions, I’m feeling pretty lost. I was feeling even more lost a couple of hours ago because I was reconsidering the fact I even wanted to do ob/gyn and thought maybe I should do family as I had originally intended back in the day. But then I remembered my least favorite topic in all of medicine, joint pain, and the thought of having to deal with that on any kind of regular basis makes me want to completely drop out of medical school so I’m back 100% on obgyn. (Sorry to those of you who have joint pain, it’s nothing to do with you!)

I know it will get figured out, but lack of control – well that makes me x_x (imagine that as a face).

This week has been pretty crazy for me. I didn’t expect the rotation would be as busy as it was, so I hadn’t done enough things on the weekend to make up for the lack of time during the week. Now I have a good idea though, and things will run a lot more smoothly :)

I’m in an inpatient psych ward in a hospital – so it’s mainly an acute setting where people need immediate care and when they are stabilized they are transferred to a long term facility, outpatient programs, etc. It’s pretty interesting, and a very busy service. They let me do a lot of stuff, so it’s nice to have some autonomy and not be babied. :) So far I am enjoying it!!

The rest of my week was just trying to stay afloat with all the other things going on in my life. I’m looking forward to the weekend and having the time to take care of things properly.

I’m also planning on going to the ob/gyn convention in the beginning of May in New Orleans! Should be fun, I’ve never been there before.
